Privacy Policy

• On-device Translation models, Dictionary Packages, Grammar Correction (rule-based and machine learning), and Dictation run locally. The text and voice they process never leave your device.
• Translation Popup contents - translation, pronunciation, and romanization - are rendered for you and not stored.
• VietLing keeps no translation history and collects no telemetry or usage analytics, on any plan.

• A Selection is sent for Translation only after you act: pressing the Translation Shortcut or clicking the Selection Button. Nothing is sent automatically.
• To capture a Selection, VietLing uses Copy-and-restore: it copies the Selection, reads it, then puts your previous clipboard contents back. Clipboard contents are not stored or uploaded.
• On Windows and supported Xorg sessions, the optional Selection Button uses global input observation so it can appear when you select text. The feature is optional and can be turned off in the Options Window.

• VietLing requires a VietLing Account login and a one-time First Setup privacy consent before a Selection is sent to a provider.
• Your account holds your login identity and your Service Tier (Free or Paid). Login is handled by Clerk, which receives the identity details you log in with, such as your email address.
• Logging in, Service Tier checks, and checkout require a connection to the VietLing backend. On-device tasks do not.

• On the Free tier, Translation runs on the On-device provider, so nothing leaves the device.
• On the Paid tier, you can connect your own AI providers through OAuth login, API keys, or on-device agent CLIs. A provider receives only the active Selection, and only when you trigger it.
• Providers are explicitly configured by you. VietLing never silently falls back to another provider.

• vietling.com is a static site. It runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no ad networks.
• Cloudflare hosts the site and serves it through its CDN. It processes the request data needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address.
• Clerk stores the session data needed to keep you logged in on this site.

Paid plans are proposed and checkout is not live yet. When it launches, payment is processed by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record and receives your billing details and payment data. VietLing does not see or store your card number.

• VietLing keeps no translation history, so there is no history to purge.
• Clerk holds your account record until you delete your VietLing Account.
• Paddle retains the transaction records it needs as merchant of record, under its own policies.
• Cloudflare retains operational logs for serving the site under its own policies.
• Deleting your VietLing Account removes the account record, your Service Tier entitlements, and any active subscription. App data stored on your device stays on your device.
